Big Year update: Anahuac NWR

Or, "What you talkin' 'bout, willets?"

Today we got a fantastic haul, 31 new species for the year, which brings us to 65! which is fantastic for the first month of the year, and a great start. We didn't know how much we would get at Anahuac, but it turned out to be a banner morning. We got these in about 3.5 hours.

Mom was so happy to see a caracara, she loves them and hasn't seen them in 3-4 years. There was a place not far from our home in FL where you could see them regularly.

UPDATE Looking at photos, we identified 5 more species! We take a lot of pix on these trips, and it pays off.
