Okay I laughed way too much at this

It's funny 'cause it's true...

It comes from the movie “Jak rozpętałem drugą wojnę światową” (How I Unleashed World War II).

I worked with a guy named Grzegorz, but we called him "Gregor" for obvious reasons. His surname had *some* of those letters. There was also a guy there named Szcztefan.

Oh, you mean like in a "how do I begin to spell that" sort of way? My last name is Anderer. It confuses the heck out of everyone, and look how simple it is in comparison! X) I have to tell people it's like Anderson, only with an -er instead of a -son at the end.

"No, Anderer."

"No, that's Mexican. Anderer."

Etc etc etc... I have had a lot of those moments over the years. :D

My favorite is when they tell you how to spell or pronounce your own name.

Me: "My last name is Anderer. A-N-D-E-R-E-R."

Them: "Don't you mean Anders?"

Me: *blinkblinkstare*

Sometimes I wonder if I'd even get asked a question like that if I were a man.

I hear you. :( After we came back from the honeymoon, I went back to work, and someone had misspelled my new last name on a report. I pointed that out.

"Are you sure?"

So, so, SO irritating.
