I'm happy to say I got started on the World Map/Postcrossing quilt today! :D This is one of my "work on in 2018" projects but I was so enthused I decided to get started early.

I had almost enough fabrics to finish South America! I actually had one more fabric available but it frays extremely easily, so I might hold off and use it for some large piece instead.

All the fabrics shown were donated by people from Postcrossing, and I'm so happy with how it's already turning out! :D I love the background fabric too, it's a perfect fabric to represent water. ^_^

The next thing will be to satin stitch the borders in using perhaps a dark gray thread, but I can't do that until it's all complete. (Well, I could probably start and just not do those countries I haven't yet filled in...)

After that I'll need more fabrics before I can start work on Central America. I do have plenty of pieces of these left, but I'll use them on other continents such as Africa and Europe.

Here's the list of received fabrics so far: https://laridian.dreamwidth.org/2767863.html

Thanks! I think I can finish up South America pretty soon, and then I'll work my way northward.

In the meantime I can still use pieces of the above fabrics for other countries, so I might work on that a bit too, get them ready for future placing.
