I decided to get back to the United States quilt this week. It's been a long time since I worked on it. How long? More than a year - July 2016. Since that time I've gotten my lovely sewing machine with allll the trimmings :D So now it'll be much easier to tack down the applique. Don't get me wrong, it still takes time, but it's easier.

So today I got Alabama done. With these appliques, I always feel like "aw man, it looks so good already" but then the satin stitches always make it look better.

Yes, it could use ironing. I'll do it when I get a few more done and I can justify getting out the ironing room.

The white for the cotton bowl is a soft fuzzy material. In retrospect I should've put some puffy stuff underneath to give it more of a 3-D effect.

I really like how the furrows look with the variegated green thread, too. And I was able to make small sunrays with my sewing machine! :D
