This is absolutely true. Yes, we have phones and power now, but we still have to stop and think to remember what day it is. Since there will be recovery into the next month+, and school doesn't start until 9/11 now because of all the flooding and damage, this will keep happening.


This is the vegan/tofu section at HEB during Hurricane Harvey. Nobody was that desperate.

That first meme is from Phoenix just about 4 years ago exactly. I went to work that morning. It had rained all night, but I didn't know until I was on my way just how bad it was. Not nearly hurricane levels, but definitely not what we're used to.

We've had plenty of flooding in recent years, so in a way it's not a surprise. And of course the blame game is going around now, but realistically Houston has never mandated a lot of rules about its own growth, so...

And yes, people bought chips and cookies and hot dogs, and not so much fresh produce or vegan stuff. :P
