ok, I'm starting to worry a little

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/capital-weather-gang/wp/2017/08/27/texas-flood-disaster-harvey-has-unloaded-9-trillion-tons-of-water/?tid=sm_fb&utm_term=.d84b95a1c5c7

(we are offscreen to the upper left of that map)

This is worse than 1992 Hurricane Andrew. 500,000 homes are flood damaged or partly underwater.

It's starting to creep up our yard and driveway. This is being proclaimed as one of those thousand-year floods.

We're still dry and have power for now. Don't know how it will go during the night. Will keep you posted as I am able. (I do wish DW had an easy way to post via mobile.)

Frogs are pretty happy though. They're croaking away and hopping all over the place. Probably trying to find high ground too.

Not worried about alligators so much here as snakes. Possibly climbing critters like raccoons or opossums to get into the attic, but I hope not. We don't have a bad fire ant problem here either, thank goodness, those buggers are real bad during floods, they make big rafts of themselves.

The rain is expected to continue for the next 48 hours.

Actually walked a little ways out from the front door, the white streaks are more rain I think. The mailbox is on the curb next to the road. So you can see it's already moved in from there.
