Anything not nailed down drowns

More flooding pix... not long after the other ones (I'm probably posting these an hour after I took them too)

This is from the road by the elementary school. You can see a lot of standing water, because the ground is waterlogged now. In the far back you'll see a gray area... that's all water. There's a big drainage canal back there and it appears to be full up to the top of the canal.

This is as far as we could get on the road to Toly's work. From the hood of the truck (at bottom) to the lights, all underwater. About where the gray thing is on the left, we estimated 15" deep, because the girl in the white shirt decided to splash across the street and that gave us an idea of depth.

You can see in the parking lot that the water is up to the hubcap on that car.

tl;dr We are flooded in, all roads leading away from us are underwater at this point. Grand Parkway and I-10 are both partly underwater, many other major highways as well. Approaching 2nd story at my boss' apartment (he is on 2nd floor) about an hour ago. No sign of rain stopping. The storm drain out front is still flowing fast but the sump is within 1-2" of the street level grate. If anything backs up we're going to find out in a hurry.

ETA Not five minutes after I posted this, too much rain for the drain, our street starting to flood. Fortunately we're on a bit of higher ground.

Thank you. <3 So far we're still on high enough ground, but we can't really leave the area, the roads are all under water to some degree. Well, we could drive to the water and get out the kayaks, I suppose.
