Quilt: Alaska Row, Cooper Landing

Today I started and completed one of the Alaska rows from last year that [profile] iceraptoress gifted me. This one is from Bearly Threaded at Cooper Landing.

This one is mostly applique, which, y'know how I feel. But boy, those fabrics! I love the river fabric, I've seen this in many other designs and it's gorgeous for that purpose.

As you probably remember, tacking down applique is one of my least favorite crafting activities. But since these fabrics are very busy, I took the opportunity to practice some of the specialty stitches on my sewing machine. It was a lot of fun and you can hardly tell that I did it, heh. :P

I used straight stitch on the airplane and the bears, though, because it's easier.
