BACC: Vagabond, week 5: Bennington

Archives and stats are here.

Week 5 continues yet some more with a new household. This time it's Leon Andros' turn.

Featuring cameos by sims from colemariesims, iceraptoress, chillyzgrrlsims.

Leon moves into a tiny trailer that older viewers may remember Psyche Temblor aka Sapphire Tecza moved into. (Same manufacturer.)

He invites over his date from Week 4, Prof. Seraphine Bennington. Leon skipped college and wants to have a make-out exam.

I wish there was a way to know beforehand how much cash a move-in had. Then they could get a bigger place from the get-go. Still, it's probably better this way.

Seraphine's LTW is Celebrity Chef, same as Leon, and isn't it nice that she's already got a good head start on the skills?

Next order of business: new clothes!

Now that he's away from twin sister Lynn, I just don't get "murderous psycho" from Leon. More like "lovable goofball."

Jenn Teflin (iceraptoress) stops by to say hi and ask if she's here to help Leon get his degree.

Some other nearby playables show up as well.

Isn't it positively Victorian that all teachers must immediately quit their jobs if they get married? Not just the women, either.

And a nice set of curtains for the bed. Man, Leon just looks a million miles away.

Thanks, but who are you?

I really need to get the Jingleheimerschmidt boys aged up and married off, I think. They've started showing up and doing this to my playables. (They're by chillyzgrrlsims)

Leon is Pleasure (I think - or Romance - I forget now) and Seraphine is Romance, so neither one of them ever wants to get engaged or married. And you know what? I'm OK with that, this time around. I want the kids to have Seraphine's last name anyway, so it all works out.

And a fire to add to the total for Law Enforcement careers.

I was going to send Seraphine to work anyway, but they don't have enough room on the lot for a driveway, so they can't get a car. :/ So she stays home during her pregnancy. At one point Leon's mom Lunis (colemariesims) and their cat Triple Sec walk by, so Seraphine invites them in. Triple Sec proceeds to do worse things than poop in someone's shoes.

Seraphine chased the cat out and scolded it, then went to play chess with Lunis.
"So are you two ever going to make it legal, or - "
"Wait, do you hear something?"

Triple Sec strikes again! That's an impressively small pile of debris from an entire bed. Did he chuck it all out the window?

Leon invites the rest of his family over (except Lynn who's pregnant) that same night. Leon and Seraphine had enough money for another bed, but shouldn't Dean and Lunis be responsible for replacing it?

Being there saves on videotaping the experience.

It's a boy named Seth, and he has Leon's eyes.

Everyone's happy! Yay!

Well, almost everyone. Dean and Lunis can't keep their hands off each other, and youngest son Jack is less than thrilled.

Words With Friends pays off, I guess.

They did hire a nanny, several days before, and she shows up even though Seraphine is home, because Seraphine needs the rest. But Seth needs a change, the place is a mess - c'mon, lady, earn your pay!

Seth's birthday at last, but at least you know the parents can make a cake.

WHY do my sims insist on standing behind the fridge during birthdays? This happens EVERY TIME. It's getting old. I might have to move the fridge outside during birthdays.

Birthday misfire!

A diaper change and a second cake later...

Oh goodness.

You know how most women's clothing is made for a size 2 body? Most CC hairs are made for pretty sim faces. It took a while to find one that worked for Seth.

Nanny force-feeding - is there a nanny bingo?

Dean comes over to check on the family. I'm still not used to having multiple generations in different houses. It's neat.

A coworker... who's a professor? Is he working at the culinary school? Or trying to get in a few night lessons?

And thus ends Week 5 for the Bennington household (I'm not double-naming it Andros/Bennington).

If you want to try and figure out a potential mates worth, you can do a date and ask them about it (I think it's an option only available on dates--they'll reply with simoleon symbols--more is better!).

"murderous psycho" is hard to achieve when wearing MAN-pris. Just saying.

re: small rubble pile--Triple Sec is a cat. Cats cover their messes. You may want to look under the carpeting.

Oooh, one of your next community lots could be a COURTHOUSE. Then Leon could take Triple Sec's owners to small claims court!

I forget if you mentioned it but are you getting pets jobs? Then if they keep going on destructive rampages THEY can pay for it!

Yeah, but I hate to do that. I guess what I'm really looking for is a way to have them get together and combine their savings before having to move into a house. E.g. if Leon had $20k and Seraphine had $12k then they'd have $32k to start with and could get a little nicer place.

On the other hand, nothing says they can't move out into a bigger home later, I suppose. And the extra townie money does help with buying beds and appliances and such. I've started using every bit of the $20k handout to buy a house, and hoping the townie spouse has enough cash to afford the basics of household goods.

I think when I get a lawyer sim, they'll have a courthouse. Obviously Triple Sec's the impetus to get one! I do think that Dean and Lunis will gift Leon and Seraphine a bed (that the Benningtons can then sell). They can afford it.

Pet jobs are open but I haven't started any yet. Something to do for the upcoming week!
