Worlds within worlds

I've heard about Archie Meets the Punisher quite a lot over the years, but couldn't find it. This past weekend, I finally put some effort into finding it, and read it. It's pretty funny, and the mix of art/story styles works well - the Punisher, grim, gritty and somewhat melodramatic, vs. Archie being Archie. It also made me laugh out loud several times, which is always a big thumbs up. Definitely worth checking out, and I'm glad I did so. (For some reason, seeing the panicked Riverdale teens totally freaking out as gunfire erupts during the dance just cracked me up.)

In another case of "finally getting around to something most other people already knew," I finally heard "Freebird" yesterday, and I don't get what the fuss is about.

- I haven't walked at lunch for two days now because of the heat. On the way home, my legs felt funny, which reminded me of one of the (many) reasons I started walking in the first place. If I don't walk, my legs feel numb and tingly. So when I got home, I did 25 minutes on the treadmill (about 5 min at a higher speed than usual, too).

- I am so sick and tired of that "Uprising" song by Muse. It's on at least once a day, and I end up listening to the radio between two and three hours a day because of the commute. I shut off the radio when that song comes on. It's so self-important and grandiose. It makes me think of vampire LARPers. Or Queen for the 2010s. I really don't like that song.

- My arm is better (yay!) so I hope to get cracking on the needlework gift tonight. OTOH it's not 100% better, so I need to keep resting somewhat, too.

- I have a new concept for a Mastermind in City of Villains, for when we start our all-MM team. I've got a concept and backstory and even a reason why he'd team up with anyone - arguably one of the most difficult things for a villain, since they're notoriously bad at playing well with others.

- I remembered today a recipe that I lost some years back. It had stir-fry cuts of beef; bow tie noodles (farfalle); and broccoli florets. You made a spicy brown (Asian-inspired?) sauce over the course of the recipe; it wasn't a gluey sauce but a thin one, IIRC. Very hot and spicy but darn good. I got it out of a magazine, but I don't even remember which magazine. Saying it was a women's magazine doesn't help. :P I want to make that recipe now.

- The matchmaker really picked a doozy for Boost's future spouse.
