If you've got kids of the right age to require giving goodie bags at their birthday parties (and I wish that practice had never come into vogue, but anyway), at today's birthday party (the birthday boy turned 7), the "goodie bags" were movie DVD's. I can only assume these are the $5-$10 versions, and each one came with the gift receipt in case you wanted to return it later, unopened. Titles included the Will Smith fish movie, Tom and Jerry, Wallace and Gromit, the Cat in the Hat (live action), Harry Potter, and so on. The kids were allowed to trade with each other to get the one they wanted. If you can get 'em cheap enough, this is way easier than trying to put together those goodie bags.
