Non-geek crafty stuff.

For princesses and possible costumes, there's Making Gilded Lace Crowns. Labor-intensive, but I think it would be worth it.

If you (or someone you know) is into hair accessories, there's a very easy tutorial on Making Your Own Feather Fascinators for spiffing up your 'do.

This isn't my creative groove so much, but I remember seeing Coats & Clark sewing stuff in the gear I inherited from my late grandmother. You can download a PDF of 1940s Embroidery Stitches originally published by C&C.

Just in time for Halloween (if you're fast), here's a list of Free Halloween Embroidery and Cross Stitch Patterns.

This next one, though, you're better off starting now for next Halloween. ;) But boy, these DIY Feathered Wings look so freakin' cool.
