Drabbles: Tellermans

From the third table at drabblegroup.

010. Chocolate
Fandom: Tellerman Legacy
Character: Romeo
Warnings: intimations of drug use/abuse
Wordcount: 100
Notes: This takes place during the few years between when Splash becomes an adult (and thus legally old enough to have guardianship of Romeo and Zorra) and the end of the Sims installment "It's a Nice Day for a Wet Wedding". Romeo is probably about 15 or 16 here.

Romeo woke, aware of the silence that said everyone else was asleep. While they were asleep, he could move safely.

Splash and his friends were passed out downstairs. Zorra was nowhere to be seen; probably she hadn't even been home last night. Romeo tiptoed through the mess, hoping they were all good and sparked and would remain unconscious for at least a few hours.

Midmorning sun came through the kitchen’s one un-blinded window. Romeo avoided the chips and chocolate cereal, instead opting for the half-package of bologna in the fridge. It was a quiet food, and he wolfed it down.

Other than the parents for making the three kids like this, I really get growly when I think of what Splash added to the mix. The only kid that really made it out of this mess was Romeo. Zorra always came across to me as self-involved, a product of parenting, but Splash man, at some point he had to take responcibility for his own crap, and he never did. Right to the end he just failed misribly.

Splash was probably mostly okay until Paragon tried to kidnap the kids. At that point, he probably figured Emodyne would help him cope with it, and he went downhill from there. Remember, Kay helped provide him with drugs, too, the prescription ones, at least. But I think Splash just decided nothing was worth it any more, and at least with the drugs he could have some fun and sometimes feel good.

Yep. And none of them were really "wanted" - Kay only had them to get money from Paragon, who never even wanted to get married. You know the kids had to recognize that at an early age.
